Decarabia introduced himself to me as a "Harbinger of Ascent." He's a scholar who bestows upon his apprentice the knowledge of aquatic life and feminity. He told me that he would like to be known as "Demonosophia." He bestows knowledge of all things feminine and teaches the witch about nature and its offspring (elementals). He can guide the witch throughout the astral planes.

Decarabia helps the witch discover the properties of stones, herbs, and birds. He removes all manner of life's impediments and helps the witch transcend her ego. He teaches the witch to shapeshift within dreams and the astral plane. He can cause and remove deception, and he can ensure that deception remains unrevealed.

According to A.E. Waite, Decarabia appears as a star in a pentacle. Recent iterations of the Goetia describe it as a flaming pentacle. This is the symbol of the fifth element becoming linked to the Cosmos-- of what makes humanity capable of witchcraft, and the spirit generally assumes the form of a man later in the ritual as prompted.
