The first appearance I witnessed was that of an anthropoid bird. Most of his feathers were brilliant red, though the ones lining the small wings attached to his arms were yellow and green. The second appearance was as an extremely muscular and pale man with black eyes. His short brown hair was in a buzzcut and his raiment was black. He had long, slim black claws and feathery black wings.

Valefor teaches the witch how to manipulate, charm, and preserve the loyalty of her acquaintances. He is associated with protection, psychic vampyrism, astral projection, and dreams.  He hunts and destroys the angels which further the aims of the White Lodge. He can impart the sorcerous powers conducive to magickal warfare. He can also alter the astral double to make it fit for astral combat. He can be called upon for exorcisms, especially of angels.

According to the traditional lore on the spirits of the Goetia, Valefor led people into thievery and abandoned them at the hanging noose. Of course, the modern Satanist can interpret this as the ability to bring about death.

Valefor can turn the witch into a black and horrific predator, as he himself is a predatory warrior of Hell. He can ensure the success of assassinations and homicides. He also helps hide the corpse. Valefor destroys the spirits attacking the witch and can drastically increase the longevity and durability of magickal energies, curses, consecrations, enchantments, etc. He teaches stealth and deception and he can make the witch cunning.

Valefor can grant the sorceress the ability to sense missing items and he can instruct her in the art of psychometry. He can teach the Satanist to see into the astral realm at will. His specialties are thievery, refining dexterity and hand-eye coordination, breaking bad habits, increasing mental acuity, self-esteem, feeling like you’re in control, overcoming personal limitations, enjoyment and pleasure, and initiation.

According to Rufus Opus, "He and his legionnaires tend to make good "fetches" for witches, that is, they are good short-range eyes-and-ears, useful for gathering information about where there might be some local spiritual resources for whatever you're working on, getting small amounts of cash to fund magical projects, and for finding places to purchase obscure occult items required for diverse spellcraft."

Valefor is a master of occult medicine, and it's said that he can heal the witch of any ailment via witchcraft.

Valefor told me personally that he is affiliated with the second star in the Capricorn constellation-- namely Dabih, the Sacred Star of the Slaughterer. According to the Order of the Nine Angles, this star, an eclipsing binary with a third star that orbits around the central pair, is one of the locations of the star gates through which spiritual energy floods into the Cosmos from outside of it (the other two nearby star gates are at Saturn and another eclipsing binary by the name of Ra's al-Ghul or Beta Persei). Dabih has an astrological influence comparable to a mixture of Venus and Saturn, which is cool as fuck, because Valefor told me this before I read about Valefor's traditional planetary affiliations.
