vapula

Vapula is a Psychopompic Duke of the Infernal Plane whose name translates to "Marvelous." Her alternate name, Naphula, is pronounced "neef-luh." Naphula teaches draconic magick and aids in dream work. She gives the astral double the ability to sense entities’ emotions and locate beings via percipience of those emotions.

Vapula is a powerful psychotherapist and she can coerce reaping spirits into cooperation and service. She is knowledgable regarding, crafts, sciences, philosophy, and trade-skills, able to instruct in various techniques and explain how specified tools may be used. She can teach all handicrafts and professions to the witch and give aid/guidance/inspiration in all creative business endeavors. In fact, she can inspire creativity of any kind in any way.

Naphula is inclined to compliment the celebrant often. John R. King IV records that Naphula "spoke with eagerness" and was "not at all hostile," but strongly disliked being threatened. According to Stephany Conolly, Vapula was untrusting and a little stand-offish during her first few encounters with the spirit. It was not until Conolly's fifth working to Vapula when the spirit showed her true self to Conolly. Rufus Opus records Naphula appearing as male. Michael W. Ford claims that Vapula was one of the Nephilim, which the spirit has confirmed to me.

Vapula can aid in healing the mind. She can teach the witch the philosophical roots of a given spiritual paradigm/system and how to practically apply that knowledge in ceremony. Her auspices are useful in the construction of talismans for magick.

The enn or traditional summoning chant used by Demonolaters to call upon Naphula is "Renich Secore Vapula Typan." The chant I use to call Vapula forward is "Liftoach Pandemonium, Et Germinet Naphula," meaning "Open the Infernal Plane and Bring Forward Naphula."

  3. The best way to find my opinion about a given demon is to Google "V.K. Jehannum ________" rather than scroll through my Demonology & Paganism section. I don't have any info on Orobas.
