“And Thou Shalt be Mighty in Things of War.”
-A Phrase Attributed to the Tunnel of Hemethterith

Hemethterith

In Frater 414’s communion with Hemethterith, the Qliphothic archdemoness explained that she “She brings energy from Chokmah to Tiphareth and the pentagram is a key.” She gave Frater 414 two key pieces of advice, telling him that he never speaks, and explaining, upon his denial of the observation, “You talk, yes, but you do not speak. When you talk, talk with authority, and say something worth listening to; cut out all the bullshit and horseplay.” The second piece of advice was uttered as a parting word: “Shut up and listen!”

Hemethterith brings about magickal ascendance and presides over self-transformation in general. She can help the magickian perfect her personal talents and engender the renewal of life. She can impart strength of will to the sorcerer, empower her subpersonal and transpersonal chakras, and hone the subtle senses. She can make the celebrant into a darker person, weaning away cowardice and complacence, and grants her the blessing of sight through new eyes.

Hemethterith presides over the breath of life. She has been attributed to “the Formulation of the Flaming Star” and the “Supernal Sulphur purifying by fire.” She has been called “the whore,” “the mother,” “wet nurse,” and “the whore,” as well as “the Dweller Between the Waters” and “the Dweller Beneath the Firmament.” She rules over the Sorcery of Knowing Cycles, which Alexander Winfield Dray defines as “understanding our hybrid of new and old cycles” and “receiving the secrets of the old cycle sorcerers and integrating them into the Voltec Current.” Her name literally translates to “the Herd” and the disease to which she is imputed is apoplexy—a result of cerebral hemorrhaging.

Hemethterith can release the sorcerer from the old world of flesh. She can teach the witch to perceive the possibilities around her and behold the wonder of the new world. Hemethterith liberates the sorcerer from the limitations of the causal/physical realm of matter, guiding her to leave the past behind as a sacrifice as she learns to look into the new world.

Hemethterith presides over telepathy, instructing the magickian in the ways of mind control and mind reading. She may open the human mind to communion with the galactic life wave and brings about rebirth. She teaches the witch to fight away mind control and gives knowledge regarding astrology, with one writer specifying her tutelage of “Qliphothic astrology,” whatever that may entail (definitely Dabih and Algol, and I’m sensing Arcturus).

Hemethterith imparts teachings of the manners in which the sorcerer may create demonic thoughtforms or egregores through brutal rituals of sexual witchcraft. She presides over change, sacrifice, justice, destruction, and regeneration, and she can defend the magickian or his allies from slander and character assassination.

Despite the fact that it is generally recorded that Hemethterith manifests as female, she adopted a male or male-seeming manifestation in her appearance to me, being a bald male with grey skin and two, long, curved, thin-ish horns.

Hemethterith can be said to preside over the fifteenth or twenty-fifth tunnel depending upon whether or not the witch begins counting with the ten Qliphothic spheres/husks. The Hebrew word for husk, here being “Qlipha,” is interpreted by black magickians to mean “Wombs.”

Linda Falorio describes:

A need to work with the energies of Hemethterith is signaled by encountering belief systems which hold distinctions between the sacred and the profane, asserting that the sacred is beyond our reach and understanding, and that thus by extension, the mundane cannot be holy. Here we may encounter the espousal of scientific materialism, along with lack of inspiration, and of spiritual ideals, and lack of true connection with the stellar life web.

The powers of Hemethterith lie in the recognition that human consciousness creates the Universe of Stars, and that the Stars in turn act upon human life and consciousness. Here we thus find "stellar vision," and reverence for songs of whales as they reflect the Ineffable. Here is satori with Gaia, the tellurian life web; here is sensitivity to Harmonic Convergence of cosmic cycles which accelerate human consciousness, turning-on the planetary exo-nervous system, and synchronizing resultant tellurian consciousness into telepathic communion with the galactic life wave. Here in the tunnel of Hemethterith we find the vision of the plumed serpent Quetzalcoatl, which is the realization of the Universe as energy in constant copulation, the blinding realization that existence is nothing but the material manifestation of cosmic orgonomic bliss.

Danger lies in naïvete in opening oneself and the planetary life-web to that entity whose dark nature one may be unwilling to admit: the devouring serpent, "Long Mouth Coming."

The Qliphothic tunnel over which Hemethterith presides is that which leads from the Qliphothic equivalent of “Sphere of the Stars” and “Sphere of the Magus” known as Chokmah, which Qliphothic equivalent is Ghaghiel (Uranus/Beelzebuth). The tunnel of Hemethterith connections Ghaghiel to the Qliphothic equivalent of Tiphereth known as Thagirion (Black Sun/Belphagore).

The delineation provided this tunnel by Cort Williams of the Order of the Ebon Spire and the Herald of the Golden Dawn is short-sighted only in its Anti-Cosmic-ness—he would oppose the demiurge and yet contradictingly accept him at his word that he did indeed create the Cosmos wherein we dwell. As such, he interprets the Qliphothic tunnels and spheres as purely antithetical to their Sephiroithic equivalents, obfuscating the results of his otherwise astounding erudition by focusing too heavily on their negative and anti-Sephirothic characteristics. He writes as follows:

The Qliphothic Tunnel connecting Ghagiel and Thagiriron. Resistance acting upon Disputation. Unbalanced Vitality acting upon Unbalanced Beauty. Corresponds to the Zodiac sign Aries and Atu IV, the Emperor. The qualities of enthusiasm, energy, and leadership here exist in their unbalanced form: Aggression, impatience, despotism. Willfulness as obstinacy, courage as foolhardiness, aggression as brutality. Ambition overreaching itself as a controlled blaze becomes a wildfire. Aries corresponds to the infant Zeus, who was suckled by the she-goat Amalthea. The infusion of primal vitality which allows the young sovereign to grow strong. The Zodiacal Qliphah which corresponds to this tunnel is Behimiron, “the bestial”. Hemhemterith denotes an excess or overflowing of this infusion of bestial strength. The excessive imbibing of this primal “mother's milk” transforms the newborn Emperor into a true enfant terrible.

This tunnel transmits the unchecked primal vitality of Ghagiel unto Thagiriron, the sphere of Sorath and the Black Sun, via the influence of the fiery Aries. The Black Adept who traverses this tunnel utilizes the powersource of Sol Nigredo to fuel his journey through the desert of the abyss and into the Outer Darkness to acquire the primordial potency of the mighty Qliphah Ghagiel, that he/she too might become an Emperor, a mighty dark sovereign who reigns over and becomes his/her own Universe.

Hemethterith’s numerical correspondences in Gematria and Greek numerology attribute her to the 58th of the 231 Gates, being Gar [Dwelling], the metal (lead) attributed to Saturn, the star known as Naos, chalk/lime, a certain title of Malkuth which translates to “Well”, “pit,” or “spring,” and Ba’al Hammon, as well as to various Hebrew words relating the ambushes and places of dwelling. The Hebrew words for “Sojourner” and “Oppressor” correspond as well.
